The Atom has a nearly indestructible one piece solid body with no screws, pins, collars, o-rings or rubberbands. The "Flexible Razor Wire"™, "blades" are formed of Nitinol, a nickel/titanium alloy that has the ability to be razor sharpened and "memory" shaped. The blades pass through the body, flip back towards the shaft and lock into position in the machined grooves in the body. These grooves lock the blades into position while at the same time allow them to "flex" and compress along the body when they come into contact with bone, this minimizes the loss of kinetic energy, promoting deeper penetration or complete, (we cut a full cutting width thru hair/hide and ribs on every animal tested including a wild boar hog's tough shoulder plate!) pass through. After penetrating the bone, blades spring back to their full cutting width of 1x1 inch for the 100 grain. Greater than ninety percent animals shot with the ATOM were complete pass thru shots. The wire has a minimal cross sectional surface providing ideal target tip aerodynamics.
The 100 grain Aluminum Atom has a 1"x1" cutting width.
